Fate With Fireworks!

Today, 30 August, which is the eve of Independence Day in Malaysia, Melanie told me that there would be sales till midnight. It was exciting and I decided to go with her to shop. I went and pick her at 3pm and we headed to Amcorp Mall first. We went to one shop and she bought 2 tops and I bought one top. The top is gorgeous. I'm very happy with it. From there, we went to her house in OUG for dinner and a break to watch her TVB drama, Healing Hands III.

After watching the show, we decided to go hartamas shopping mall. When we were to turn out to Section 16, it was jam. It was then we have to choose where to go if its jam. We decided if going Hartamas is jam, we would head to 1 Utama or vice versa. In the end, we headed to 1 Utama for I want to try the pair of boots from Vincci. Along the way, the jam heading to NKVE was fantastic.

Once in 1 Utama, I headed off to try the boots and Melanie also tried her pair of boots but the particular color she wanted was out of size. I quickly ask the sales person to check if the boots is available in other outlets. She came back to tell us that the one in Ikano Power Center do have her size and have place a booking for it. I then bought my boots and walk round 1 Utama. I manage to buy some mooncakes for my sister ^_^

Once we were done in 1 Utama, we then head to Ikano Power Center. Unfortunately it was jam and we didn't have a clue to why it was jam. We just went on our way there and we saw large crowds of people there. All parking area was full and there were so many cars parked at the side of the road. We then parked in Tesco to save the trouble. As we head off to Ikano, we then realize that there was a countdown there. Haha... we are that blur on the Independence celebration.

Since we still have time, we quickly get the boots and went out to see the event. We just found a nice spot and it was 1 minute to countdown. Once it was midnight, there was a display of fireworks. I lasted for 10 minutes and it was beautiful. I do not have words to describe it. I felt like I was dreaming as I watch it. I feel like I was in fairyland where dreams come true ^_^ I do wish to have another chance to watch such magnificient display of fireworks. I can say congratulation to Ikano and The Curve for the wonderful display of fireworks. As I remember, my eyes was fixed at the fireworks throughout the entire time ^_^

After that we went in to Ikea to kill some time as it would be jam to head back. When we came out, the jam was still there and no cars was moving. So we sat and have supper. It was nearly 2.30 when we decided to go to the car for fear of safety but I think there wasn't any worries for there were a lot of cars jammed up trying to exit near my car. It took us another hour to come out of Tesco parking area and I have the ticket as a soveniour. After that it was smooth traffic all the way home.

I got home bout 3am to find one of the neighour's car (Black Savvy) blocking my gate entrance and I have difficulties to parked in. Even the car is small, he/she didn't park it properly for the other neighbours gate have plenty of space still but only my gate was blocked. I have to thank Wee Kiat for helping me park my car in. Since we are all in good mood, I didn't leave a note to tell that person as to never park his/her car there and block my gate since he/she has no place to park her car.

Sunway Table Tennis Open

Yesterday, Sunway held their first Sunway Table Tennis Open where many attended. The majority participate in the men's single event. When I reached there, there was 6 Tibhar tables where there were proper partitions by Tibhar also. The score boards are also from Tibhar. Wah...But it was sponsored by a table tennis shop. Besides that, the prizes were interesting were the winners get medal, cash prize and also a piece of Andro rubber.

In the tournament, I entered the women's single and also the mix double's event. Unfortunately, I was kick out of the single's event for I lost. Isn't it suprising? Maybe not. For a person who hasn't train for 2 years and play a fool during her first match, I don't think so. Hahaha... I didn't know that the other player in my group was of higher standard -_-" But it's ok. The good thing is I made a new friend too ^_^

In the mix double event, it was stressful. I was partner with Yee Ming but he was tired and wanted to go home so my new partner was Ben, a Vietnamese state player if not mistaken. We made it 2nd in the group and went through semifinals. During then, we have no problem and went into finals. But during finals, I was too excited I think but we won in the end.

It was a very long and tired day. I was in campus at 8.30am but left at 8.30pm -_-" But I manage to have enough energy to go for counter strike later at night. Hahaha... I just can't believe I can still aim and shot after a whole day of table tennis ^_^

Simpsonize Me

Here is how I look like after being simpsonize -_-"

Tournament in Wisma OCM

Adrian asked me to join his company for the annual auditing firms table tennis tournament on the 8 and 9 August. I agreed to him that I would play for his company but the event was held in Wisma OCM, Kuala Lumpur. *sweat* So far away. So I took KTM to Putra station where Adrian would meet me and take me to the venue.

On the 8th, all was smooth and we make it to semifinals. I didn't contribute for the first match for I was in the Mix Double's which I didn't need to play for we won 3 out of the 5 events. After that we went for dinner at Jalan Pudu near the Ko Ko Kai Restaurant and the Fei Po Kai Restaurant. We had chacoal cooking style food and roasted pork. It was delicious.

On the 9th, my luck wasn't that good. Since I was to meet Adrian half hour later, I took a later KTM but it stopped near Angkasapuri station due to technical problem. We had to wait for the replacement train but it didn't come. So the KTM was towed to Angkasapuri where we board the next train. For that, I waited in total of 40 minutes for the replacement train which didn't come and the next train.

Since I was late, Adrian head off to the venue while I got off in KL Central and took the Monorail to Hang Tuah. When I reach the Hang Tuah station, I had a good 15 - 20 minutes walk to the venue. That was the warm up I got for the event just started when I arrived. This time the match was very close for they end up playing all 5 events where the last is the Mix Double's which I'm playing. Who was the opponent? I just recognize them. They are fresh graduates from Inti Nilai. In other words, they are national players and the female was Beh Li Wei's sister Beh Li Fang. The two famous sister in the table tennis Malaysia. Beh Li Wei is currently our women's number 1 player.

Due to that, we didn't make it to finals. It was a tough match but it was an honor to play with national players and to see how bad my playing is -_-" At least I learn something from them ^_^ Besides that, I got to meet up with old friends like Seau Yen and Mr Chin ^_^ We manage to play together for fun. Other than that, I meet some new people and had some laughs with them.

In conclusion, it was a fun tournament where I do not feel the pressure of losing for they are satisfied with their achievement. After that we went for dinner at Jalan Imbi. We ate in Guizhou Restaurant where the food is fantastic and delicious. Thank you Adrian.

p.s. Photos would be uploaded later once Adrian pass them to me. Thank you for your patiences.

What Type are You???

I was feeling bored and I stumble this site online: http://www.ullazang.com/personality.html

The picture above is the picture I choose among 8 other pictures. This picture represents dynamic active extroverted. The description is as below:

You are quite willing to accept certain risks and to make a strong commitment in exchange for interesting and varied work.

Routine, in contrast, tends to have a paralyzing effect on you.

What you like most is to be able to play an active role in events. In doing so, your initiative is highly pronounced.

Birthday Tree

This was from one of my forwarded emails. I find it interesting that there is such things as birthday tree and it is kinda accurate ^_^

I fall in the category of Lime tree which is known as Doubt also. This is what it say:
intelligent, hard working, accepts what life dishes out, but not before trying to change bad circumstances into good ones, hates fighting and stress, enjoys getaway vacations, may appear tough, but is actually soft and relenting, always willing to make sacrifices for family and friends, has many talents but not always enough time to use them, can become a complainer, great leadership qualities, is jealous at times but extremely loyal.

You can find your birthday tree at http://www.rexanne.com/bday-tree.html

Bruised Apples

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner.

Well, as such things go, one thing led to another.

The sales manager went longer than anticipated and the meeting ran overtime. Their flights were scheduled to leave out of Chicago's O'Hare Airport, and they had to race frantically to the airport. With tickets in hand, they barged through the terminal to catch their flight back home.

In their rush, with tickets and brief cases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of baskets of apples.

Apples flew everywhere.

Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly-missed boarding.

All but one.

He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned.

He told his buddies to go on without him, waved goodbye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor.

He was glad he did. The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her; no one stopping, and no one to care for her plight.

The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them into the baskets, and helped set the display up once more.

As he did this he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.

When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $20 for the damage we did. Are you okay?" She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly."

As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister...."

He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes.

She continued, "Are you Jesus?"

He stopped in mid-stride, and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his mind.

"Are you Jesus?"

Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace.

If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's Actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day.

You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.

Let's start living like we are worth the price He paid.

Streamyx

It seems that everyone uses broadband internet for either fast browsing or for young people like me, to download torrents. Unfortunately, there were some complains that downloading torrents can affect web-browsing. How true is this???

I think my luck with streamyx is not that good for I had connectivity problem for the pass few days and finally 2 days back, I can't connect to the internet at all. I called the technical department and made a report with them. When I ask them if the modem have problem they say no it shouldn't be. But from their side, I wasn't login to the internet when I was connected here at home. Weird isn't it?

They then asked me to do some checking and still refused to ruled out the most obvious problem. I wasted 40 minutes trouble-shooting what they asked me to do which isn't the main reason of the problem. I wonder if that is one of their ways of getting money from my phone bill??? Since I'm using Celcom, they still earn from me -_-"

Aside from that, I asked the technician how come they cap the downloads of torrents. It seems that the staff themselves also download torrents. But they know which IP address are cap and know how to set the port to enhance their own downloads. Is this fair then??? I was furious but what can I do.

After that phone call, I was left internet-less for the whole day. But the very first thing on the next morning, they called up to come check. When they came, they went and check if my phone was working. It was. Then it came back to modem. And of all things, it was the modem problem -_-" I asked them if it is and they keep saying no such thing.

The worst part is, I was con by them also. When I first subscribe to them, the modem that was given to me was spoilt. When they change a new one for me, it was a different brand and they didn't inform me that that particular modem do not have warranty. So they went happily charging me RM80 for the new modem if I want to be connect to the internet immediately. What a con-job.

I think I learned my lesson from them. I'm going to keep a spare modem so that I can use it to test if it is modem problem or not in future. If it is, I can save my phone bill calling their hotline and also giving them money for new modem which doesn't cover warranty. Streamyx is really a rip-off but I have no choice for they are the one who gives the fastest line and less problem compare to other broadband services.
